Tent Cooling Solution

Tent Cooling Solution

We provide engineered HVAC systems for event tents, exhibition halls, and temporary structures from 500 to 10,000 sqm.

Our scalable tent cooling solutions are designed for trade shows, outdoor exhibitions, festivals, logistics tents, and industrial temporary facilities, ensuring stable performance even in extreme temperatures up to 45°C (113°F).

How to Cool a Large Tent Efficiently?

Cooling a large tent requires accurately calculated cooling capacity based on climate conditions, occupancy density, tent height, and solar exposure.

In general, large event tents require approximately 280–350 W per square meter, depending on environmental and usage conditions.

For high-end exhibition tents, where higher comfort standards and heat loads are expected, cooling capacity requirements typically increase to 350–500 W per square meter.

The following table will introduce the required cooling capacity of Drez air conditioning for tents in normal temperature areas, as well as recommendations for different climate regions (Reference Brochure).

For tents in high-temperature areas, the cooling capacity needs to be increased by at least 10%.

Case Study

2000 sqm Exhibition Tent – 45°C Climate

Project Overview:

  • Location: Middle East
  • Tent area: 2000 sqm
  • Outdoor temperature: 45°C
  • Installed capacity: 1120 kW (112kW * 10 Set)
  • Result: Maintained 22°C indoor temperature

Many cooling failures occur due to:

  • Undersized equipment
  • Ignoring air circulation patterns
  • Lack of backup systems
  • Poor duct placement
  • No consideration for solar load
  • Insufficient insulation planning

Professional load calculation prevents these risks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many BTUs per square meter are required for tent cooling?

Typically 1000-1200 BTU per sqm, depending on climate conditions.

Can industrial AC systems work in open tents?

Yes, but airflow management and partial enclosure are necessary to avoid cooling loss.

Is evaporative cooling suitable for tents?

Evaporative cooling works well in dry climates but is not recommended in humid regions.

Do large event tents require backup cooling systems?

For high-profile events, redundancy is strongly recommended to prevent operational risk.
